Despite this pen’s elegance, it’s incredibly challenging for me to grapple with the price of the Meisterstück Platinum-Coated 149 Fountain Pen. The model I tested rings in at $1,055, which is, well, quite a bit more than the $7 it costs to get a 60-count pack of BIC ballpoints. Sure, 10 of those BICs may not even work, but at $.11 a piece, it’s not much of a loss.
